Iron & Ember, a free 3D collectible card game

A world taken by Shadow

The Shadow has already won. Pick a side, build your deck and take the world back.

The trailer

Five factions. One war.

Five factions

Choose how you answer the dark

Stick to one, or pair two: Alloy cards belong to two factions and power up while you hold terrain from both.

Spark

Cleanse it.

Spark refuses to let the world go dark. Heal your army, make it stronger and drag the fallen back out of the graveyard to fight again.

Plays with Heal · Reclaim · Raise · Spell Power

Sparkhand, a Spark creature The Word Made Bright, a Spark creature The Dawnbringer, a Spark creature The Last Lamp, a Spark terrain The Spark card back

Ash

Become it.

Ash walked into the dark and came back changed. Stay hidden, strike first and drain the life out of everything you hit.

Plays with Hidden · Life Drain · Deathmark

The Hollow Choir, an Ash object The Unseen King, an Ash creature Wolf of the Failing Dusk, an Ash creature The Fading Light, an Ash terrain The Ash card back

Anvil

Fight it.

Anvil is the last wall still standing. Huge defenders soak up the hits, spells bounce right off them, and a hammer waits for anything that gets too close.

Plays with Protect · Spellproof · Kill

Warden of the Adit, an Anvil creature The First Anvil, an Anvil object High-Crag Aurochs, an Anvil creature Hammerfall, an Anvil spell The Anvil card back

Rust

Outlast it.

Rust knows time eats everything, the Shadow included. Hit early, hit hard, and grind your opponent’s deck down until there is nothing left to draw.

Plays with Breakthrough · Impulse · Erode

Priest of the Heaps, a Rust creature Slagfall Colossus, a Rust creature The Last Scavenger, a Rust creature Attrition March, a Rust terrain The Rust card back

Forge

Adopt it.

Forge turns the Shadow into fuel. Build machines, flood the board with cogs and team up with any other faction.

Plays with Ember Shield · Kindle · Summon

Emberlathe Construct, a Forge creature The Great Engine, a Forge object The First Smith, a Forge creature Iron Boilerworks, a Forge terrain The Forge card back

No pay to win

Collect every card. Upgrade every card.

You earn all of it by playing, and nothing that wins games is for sale.

01

Earn by playing

Every match you play to the end pays out in Ember Stones: five for a win, three for a loss, a little less against the bot. Stones are the only currency in the game, and they can’t be bought.

02

Open card packs

A card pack costs five stones. Pick the faction you want: every pack holds seven cards, and the one in the middle is never an ordinary pull.

03

Upgrade your cards

Spend stones on a card you own to raise it through four tiers: Normal, Empowered, Refined and Perfected.

04

Build your decks

A deck is thirty-five cards, one copy of each. Try the deck builder right here.

NormalFull price
Empowered80% of the cost

Tunnel-Lord as you upgrade it: 7 · 5½ · 4 ember. Same card, cheaper to play.

How it plays

The board

4½
5½
  • No resource cards. Your ember grows by one every turn, up to twenty, all on its own. Every card you draw is a card you can use.
  • Half embers. Each turn you can borrow half an ember from the next one. Cast that 3½ now and start next turn a little short.
  • Aim everything, then strike. Point each attacker at a target, then hit Attack and the whole wave lands at once. Even a creature that dies in the clash gets its hit in.
  • Wounds heal every turn. Finish the job in one turn, or your target walks it off.

The rules

Easy to learn, hard to master
